The Romans must have believed in Cyclopes!?
The Romans adopted the Trojan War as one of their myths and also the Odyssey. So then they must have believed in the cyclopes of the island where Odysseus landed!
Am I right??

Should I go to my office party?
I am the receptionist for a law firm. I am 19, and all of my co-workers are 25+. The party is being held by the sister-firm (where my boss and ex-stepfather both work), and I have been personally invited — despite my age. Now this could be a good opportunity for me, not only to show that I can be mature and mingle with adults, but also because my office crush will be there. He is much than me, but we are VERY close at work and we have even gone out to lunch before. It’s a mutual attraction that would develop into a relationship if timing permitted. I want to go, but I’m worried that it may be awkward because everyone is so much older than me and besides my crush, I would have no one to really talk to. I wouldn’t want to feel uncomfortable or have to cling to anyone in order to fit in. Also, my ex-stepdad may be there with his wife, which could be sad for me. But I see this as a good chance to make a move on my crush. Another thing is I know everyone will get very drunk, the people from both offices are big drinkers despite their ages. I’m just nervous, and would like an opinion.

Also, the party starts at 5:30, should I wait till maybe 7:00 to arrive (so that people will already be drunk and so that I can make an appearance?). I won’t be drinking either (maybe a glass of wine at the most so that I do not embarrass myself or look silly).

Thanks guys I appreciate it!

Go and be yourself. Have fun!

Go, have fun. Enjoy yourself and get to know everyone better.

Don’t be late…..that is rude. Arrive between 5.30 and 6.00 (at the latest)

Leave earlier than everyone else if you only want to make an "apperance".

(don’t drink and drive- nothing wrong with having a dd ready, taking a cab or drinking sparkling water)

Does Auburn University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of North Alabama, University of South Alabama, and the University of Montevallo require you to live on campus?

Most schools require freshmen to live on campus and upperclass students have the option to live off campus.

I am going to buy a DS Lite, but I was wondering if I should wait for the holidays, maybe Black Friday. I don’t think the consoles will go on sale, but I thought maybe I’d get a good deal on a bundle. There were some Mario and Ice Blue bundles that came out last year, so I was wondering if anyone new about bundles coming out this holiday season. Is it worth waiting or should I just get one now? Thanks!

No there is no bundles planned for the Nintendo DS Lite. Nintendo DS Lite is no considered old. Nintendo is focusing more on Dsi bundles, and all that good stuff. What Nintendo is really focusing on is the Nintendo Dsi LL. The Nintendo Dsi LL has a bigger screen. As a matter of fact it has a 4.3 inch screen to compete with the PSP 3000. I would not recommend buying a ds lite because they will not be made anymore by next year and plus why do you want a ds lite when there is a better and improved dsi that costs only $40.00 more. I would recommend buying the dsi but not the Dsi LL. The dsi ll will be releasing in japan on november 21st. It is supposed to release in America in the first quarter of 2010. It is supposed to cost $219.99 but i would just recommend buying the dsi because the other one costs to much. By the way, when the new dsi LL comes out they will stop making ds lites. Wait until Black Friday and buy the dsi so there would be a sale. They might give you 2 free games but the two games are not bundled up with it. Walmart might give you them seperatly. Good luck and i hoped that i helped you.

It was wicked foggy and damp outside, I went to target to buy some stuff. I parked my car diagonal because thats how the parking spots were made. I tried to back up to leave the car, only problem is that my back windshield was fogged up. So I accidentally back in to the car behind me. NNo one was hurt and the owner of the car that I backed in to let it go. But when i got home i realized there was a huge dent on the left side of my trunk and it was bent in ward. The trunk would not open. I just wondering how much would it cost to get that fixed?

depends on who you call and most wil have to see it to put a price on it
kelly_f_1999 | Nov 27, 2009

It depends on how large the dent is. Not a good sign that the trunk won’t open.
You may have to replace the whole trunk lid or you may be able to get the dent pulled out @ body shop. Hard to tell without actually seeing the damage (how big the dent is)

As far as price is concerned. body shop labor generally runs $ 20-30/hr then a couple of hundred (at least), if you gotta replace the lid, plus material costs (paint, primer etc.).

November 27, 2009

Blackfriday is under a week and im planning to get it?
Do the new xboxes have the RROD PROBLEM?

yes, but the risk is much lower than it used to be.
enraged_bannana | Nov 25, 2009

Yes. Unless Microsoft have removed the red light and you just have to guess when it’s broken this time.
Camberwell | Nov 25, 2009

The red ring of death isn’t a big problem anymore since the new editions come out, Ive had mine since this time last year and I haven’t had any problems with it. I suggest getting one if you want to,not that big of a risk anymore.

I’m an african american 18 year old young woman from DC who recently moved to Colorado. Where I’m from, the area is very very integrated and diverse, and even though everyone was of a different race, pretty much everyone accepted eachother for the race they were. When we moved to CO, I noticed alot less african americans than I am used to seeing, and that alot of times people will stare and such. Anyway, I’m short, slender, long legs, big boobs, small waist, pretty face, etc. (Not to sound concieted, just to give a visual.) I model, and was in a few pageants and blah blah blah. Physically, (back in DC) I never got many complaints from the guys back there. My personality is great too, I’m very tolerant, very open minded, not quick to anger, funny, etc. I met a guy on friday and we really hit it off. He’s 22. We began to talk and I gave him my number and he ended up texting me within the hour I gave it to him. Later that same day we spent almost an hour and a half on the phone and after finding out we had alot in common, he asked me on a date for that same night. He picked me up and we went to a movie and then out to dinner and he kept bringing up how hot he thought I was and everything, but at dinner the waitress once she saw us was blatantly rude to the point where he even noticed it and commented about it, and she even ditched us and told me flat out "no" when I asked her to give me a box. We brushed it off and he took me home and was a complete gentleman, and emplored that I go with him to a company picnic the next day and that he would show me around downtown after we went. He even wanted to meet my parents and learn about my background and stuff (not in a weird way though.) We went to the picnic which was full of older southern wealthier people, who looked at me funny from the time we walked in and would make little snide comments to him. We both ignored it and had a great time with eachother and ended up leaving early. We went downtown and had a blast walking around and looking at things and holding hands. He kept trying to put his arms around me and hold my hand, and anything I saw that I liked he tried to buy for me, but I declined because I didn’t want him to think that was why I was dating him AND it was only the second date. As we were walking around, we had alot of people staring at us and even commenting about the fact that we were together. He told me after we left he had even heard a group of younger black guys who stared at us and were completely silent when we passed say "What the fuck!? What is she doing with him?" when we were walking back to the car. He took me to 2 different malls trying to buy me things, then we went to another movie and during the movie he held on to me for dear life and held my hand and etc. By now it was nighttime and I had to be home by 12, so we decided to just go somewhere quiet and talk. When we finally found a place, we began to talk and eventually started kissing. (And we both had a bunch of mints and stuff during the movie so breath was not an issue.) Things began to get heavy even though we were just kissing, so I stopped it and said that I should go home. He began to drive me home and the whole way there he was talking about how "hot" of a kisser I was. He took me home, walked me to my door and I gave him a hug goodbye. Now, I wrote ALL that to say its been 5 days since then and I haven’t heard word one from him. I don’t understand what happened, especially when he was so interested to the point of wanting to buy me EVERYTHING and even meet my parents. He had never dated a black girl before (he told me), so my mtoher thinks it might be that, but I’m really hoping its not. Does anybody out there have any idea wtf happened?

sorry but it sounds like he’s a moron if you ask me.
