My boyfriend is still living with his Ex-Wife?
My boyfriend (who lives 3 hours away from me) and his Ex-wife divorced last month but they are both still living under the same roof. The divorce process went fairly quickly (took only 2 months, it was an uncontested divorce and SHE was the one who filed) and due to some work that needs to be done to the dwelling the house has not been listed on the market yet. He makes enough that he could afford his own place, although he would have to downgrade his standard of living fairly significantly to do so. There are no children involved but there are 4 dogs (they are like children to them both). They both stay in separate bedrooms and the mood in the household is highly volatile; however, he has not even begun moving his things into the storage unit he rented two months ago.
He and I work together on weekends from spring to fall, have known each other and been close friends for years. He says that he loves me, admits that that scares the heck out of him and has been honest with me about not being ready for a "real" committed relationship yet, which I understand as I don’t want a committed relationship with him until he has his own place and has sorted out his feelings about the divorce. We have an open relationship right now, although he is not dating anyone else, (I assume because of the ex’s reaction, which is strange because she has a boyfriend and rubs his nose in it every chance she gets: for instance when she found out the dental hygienist flirted with him at his last checkup she had a total meltdown!) but things have been getting pretty serious lately.
I don’t want to complicate the situation or make any demands from him this early on but because the ex has made his life hell since she found out we were dating he has begun to keep it from her and I feel like some kind of dirty little secret. What makes it worse is that the ex has family in my small town who are keeping tabs on us so if we want to go out to do something together we have to drive at least 30 miles away to do so.
I know most of you must think I’m nuts for even getting involved with him, the situation being what it is, but truth be told I have been in love with him for the past 3 years and I’m not a young sappy romantic type. I am in my mid 30’s, decided long ago never to marry and have only ever been in love one other time in my entire life…which is why I feel it’s worth trying to figure it out.
Am I being impatient because I feel he should move into his own place? Should I just break it off until he gets things worked out? I don’t want to give him an ultimatum but the sneaking around is driving me batty, especially since we are both single people doing nothing wrong! Please folks, some advice would be helpful!
If it’s a uncommitted relationship, it’s a uncommitted relationship. If he’s not ready for a serious relationship, he’s not going to be in one. 1 month after a divorce is a very short time. I’ll bet, if you sat him down with an ultimatum, and told him you want a relationship and to move that he is going to tell you to find someone else to have in that relationship. You are expecting way to much from him.
Plus, if you are having to hide things- there is a reason. And I bet that reason is more than just because his ex gets mad. I would definitely assume something is still going on between the ex, and him. Especially because she initiated the divorce, that leads me to believe he did not even want it.

I’m only 16 and a sophomore in high school, but i actually have some experience with this kind of stuff. My mom was dating a guy in the middle of getting a divorce for, I believe, about a year if not a little more. She was living with him and everything while me and my older brother stayed at our grandparents until she lived in a good stable place. Out of no where the guys wife decides she wants to come back to him (the divorce had not be finalized yet) and he pretty much said ok and kicked my mom out of the place they lived in together. He took everything that they accumulated over the year that they were together and took his wife back.
It’s been about 2 years now since then and we are back with our mom in our own house. He comes around and helps us with things and still says he loves my mother. She refuses to take him back until he gets the divorce papers once again (he fights constantly with his wife and dosnt get along with his kids as well as moved out from them). despite everything he still tries to get with my mom and everything else. I’m not sure if its a good or bad thing to stay with the guy, but if you love him I wouldnt give up so easily. Sorry for the length. But i hope it helped you.

When you answer to somebody’s comment, it is supposed to show up below his or her comment, to form a thread. When I answer to somebody’s comment or follow the commentary of the people I subscribed to, the answers always show up on top of the comment box, like a regular new comment.
I mailed some of the people I have subscribed to and asked them if they were aware of that. Well, it seems like their answers show up below the comment they answered to, as it is supposed to be, I guess.
Does anybody know why I see all the answers to comments on top of the comment box?

Why hasn't anyone made any big budget Sasquatch, Jersey Devil, Lochness Monster Horror Films?
And I’m not talking about some crappy sci-fi channel movie.
Something like Paranormal state in the woods. Imagine lost backpackers deep in the wilderness being stalked by bigfoot. Or a family of prehistoric monsters terrorizing an underwater facility. Jurassic Park meets the Abyss. The Jersey Devil legend is a horror flick just waiting to be made.
I just don’t understand why there are so many great monster stories out there but only crappy friday the 13th type movies are being made.
I don’t know maybe I’m f’d in the head. But If done right these movies could be as big as Jaws or The Blair Witch Project and not jokes like Deep Blue Sea and Jeepers Creepers 2.

Lol @ Snakes On a Plane. I totally agree with you. My Mom and I talk about this a lot. We both love good horror movies, but there are so few. Even a good rehashing of classic monsters (werewolves, vampires, etc.) are better than the old slasher flick.

What? The Bible CLEARLY calls all believers "saints". To be a saint means "set aside" or sanctified for God’s use. ALL believers are saints. We who have Christ, are to be about "their Father’s work", as Christ was….
We are totally justified by grace and faith the moment we believe. Born as a child of God. You don’t earn that!!!!!!!!!!!! A child doesn’t earn being your child- it’s born that way. So it is with us. You are born again.. born of the Spirit.
Then, you grow and mature in Christ- that is God "conforming you to Christ’s image".. this is a process, the Christian grows and matures in his walk.
But the salvation is NOT earned. It is a gift lest any man should boast.
