Are these symptoms of a mental disorder?
My mother has always been a little on the strange side, which has never been a real issue. But she’s also had some very awkward and frustrating ways about her.
Examples:
My boyfriend and I visited her and my father, we made some crepes at night. In the morning, my mother saw us straight after we woke up and demanded that we clean the kitchen immediately.
We cleaned all the mess from the crepes in the kitchen up(we missed a tiny bit of spilled sugar on the top bench) she then demanded that we clean all the dishes in the kitchen(which were there when we arrived). She pointed to an egg carton beneath some tea-towels, and said that we must have hidden it there. (Which we didn’t, why would we bother?) She then pointed to some breakfast dishes and said "look at these breakfast dishes, clean them now!" even though we hadn’t even had breakfast yet.
My father then had a ‘discussion’ with her, saying we don’t need to clean her mess up. She then said "The onus is on them to clean the kitchen, they’re the guests!" And she used the word ‘onus’ about 6 times.
When I was younger, she took me clothes shopping. She took me into a plus size clothing store and spoke to the store assistant. The store assistant said they didn’t have any clothes that would fit me, and that we should try a regular store. My mother still told me to try on the clothes from that store, i tried on 4 pairs of jeans – all were too big.
She often invents stories to show off her intellect. She lies about facts and gets very mad when someone else knows more than her.
She uses obscure words, but not regularly. She seems to use one obscure word for a day or two, then move on to another one. If someone asks her what the word means, she acts shocked – as if they didn’t know what that meant.
Some planes flew over our house, quite low, as a part of a show for a car race. She thought it was a bomb raid and freaked out.
I went to buy a dressing gown, and she said "why are you looking here, they don’t have size XXXL" even though i am an M
She visited my house, and I had the dogs up on the old sofa. She started to tell me off for not having a sheet on the couch, to keep it cleaner. (Even though our house is always clean, and her house is a mess)
On that same visit(which she knew our house would be immaculate, because we had an inspection) she barged into our bedroom and passed judgment. She then acted surprised at the floors being clean.
She often makes rude comments about my boyfriend’s mother’s weight. She talked about hiking once, and his mum is a good walker, and my mother refused to believe that she was.
When my bf’s mum bought my mum some expensive shortbread biscuits, my mother "knew" that they were $2 made in china from cheap as chips. They were worth over $20.
She seems to think that everyone is scheming and sly. She also takes any opportunity she can to insult people about their weight. She is paranoid. She won’t ever accept that she is wrong, even when it is blatant. She makes unreasonable demands and tries to put blame on others in order to avoid work. She constantly tries to prove that she has a superior intellect to those around her. She never admits weakness or failure.
I think there is something wrong here, is there a specific illness which she seems to be a sufferer of?
Have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissisti c_personality & see if you think it’s a good match. Alternatively, you’ll find links from the text to other disorders which may be a better match.
The problem is that people with these disorders are not the ones who suffer, so they never accept help.

Reading all of this one thing becomes clear to me is that your mother is a very likely candidate for vitamin B12 deficiency.
Paranoia can be caused by B12 deficiency and this vitamin is needed to maintain good stress levels (plane over the house incident).
Another deficiency symptom is mania. A few symptoms of mania are grandiose feelings – boastful self-importance or display/larger-than-life feelings of superiority, obsessive behavior (in your mother’s case making sure everything is clean), impulsiveness, irritability, and frequently denying anything is wrong with them. There are far more symptoms than this and are listed on different websites.
It would not surprise me at all if your mother had a B12 test and was found deficient. This vitamin is essential to brain function!!! and is quite commonly misdiagnosed or not picked up at all which is a terrible thing as left untreated it will eventually cause permanent brain and nerve damage.
With this vitamin you can exhibit deficiency symptoms even if tests come back in the low normal range. I would advise a level of over 600pmol but aim for 800pmol and higher for optimal health. I would also suggest a pernicious anaemia test. Pernicious anaemia is an auto immune disease in where the body cannot absorb B12 and sublingual tablets or vitamin sprays (both which go under the tongue) are needed. To boost levels initially the doctor might give a few injections but it can be maintained without needles.
Check your mothers fingernails and see if she has moons on them. I have no moons, except on my thumb nails, which is from a prolonged B12 deficiency. Also white spot on the forearms can show up. Not everyone with B12 deficiency has the same symptoms so it is essential to have tests done.

can someone please analyze this in great depth?
Metabolic- Slipknot
Gone – I couldn’t murder your promise
Right before my eyes
The revolutions of my psychosis
Kept me outta the way
Once – inside – all I hold is ash…
Fail – suppressing every feeling
I’m in so much pain
I have every fuckin’ right to hate you
I can’t take it!
The hardest part was knowing that I could never be you
Now all I do is sit around and wish I could forget you
My demise – I took a life worth living and
Made it worth a mockery
I deny – I fold, but they keep on coming
(Stop) I’m always ready to die
But you’re killing me
Who are you to me? Who am I to you?
Is this a lesson in nepotistic negligence?
By default, you are my only link to the outside
Psychosomatic suicide
Where were you when I was down?
Can you show me a way…
To face everyday with this face – goodbye
My demise – I took a life worth living and
Made it worth a mockery
I deny – I fold, but they keep on coming
(Stop) I’m always ready to die
But you’re killing me
When I blur my eyes, they make the whole
World breath – I see you fucking me
And I am absolutely controlly every urge
To mutilate – the one and only answer
So much for memories…
I wanna derss in your insecurities
And be the perfect you – I’m through
I’m out-stretched out for all to loathe
Here we go – the ultimate irony
it kills me to say this, but this song is dedicated to me by a friend ://
i understand the song, but i would like to see how others view this song
to me the song basically seems like a story of someone not being good enough for another and now are dealing with the aftermath. Obviously being a slipknot song, its clearly not the happiest of songs, but it seems that theirs an incredible back story to it that only the author of the song may know.

Can I be in love with 2 men?
Ok.. I guess that I should start by explaining to everybody that I have been in a relationship for 3 years now, The entire time on egg shells and very fragile relationship. In other words, our relationship has always been holding on only by a thread.
The problem is that my current bf, is a very big pathological liar, I catch and confront (in a very civilized manner without yelling and screaming or breaking things) him all the time, and still when caught right dead in his lie.. he still lies and lies to make up for his primary lie. We have a child, who very recently turned 1, therefor; the need to make our relationship work is definitely a priority for me.
Over -all we have a pretty good friendship to at least have as a ground floor for us. We will always be able to fall back onto our friendship should everything else hit the fan.
We recently went on vacation together, trying to re-kindle our relationship.
We did to some level for sure, but on the last night there (vacation), I had met a beautiful loving soul.
Right in front of my bf, He was giving me the sweetest compliments, made me laugh all night long and made me regret having to leave to the very next morning. We even exchanged numbers (bf still there but probably not too worried since we live over-seas).
When the guy noticed the look on my bfs face when we had exchanged numbers, he said it would be great if I could hook him up with a friend of mine but she had to be as beautiful as me and that would be so hard to find. He just kept those lines coming and had me under his charm in no time flat. I have several tattoos, and he kept telling me how sexy he thinks that is on a woman etc etc We sat with him ( he is security of the hotel resort ) for about 3 hours the entire time, I was fantasizing.
From that very night on, until right now as I type this, I cannot get him out of my head and Im feeling guilty about it. Why is he all that I can think about? Every single time that my phone rings or I get a text message I pray that its him.
We have been home for about a week now, and my vacation guy called me today, We spoke very quickly because it costs close to 2$/minute to call. I have already secretly bought a calling card so I can call him back. My bf even noticed that something triggered between vacation guy and I. He said it was all over our faces and I must admit that if my bf was not there things would have been so much more intense between us but we both had to hold ourselves back. It was kinda awkward really.
What is this? How can I stop thinking about this guy?
No, you cannot be in love with two men.
You most likely don’t like your lying boyfriend but feel an misguided obligation to stay with him, for the kid. And you don’t love the other guy, it’s just a major crush for someone that complimented you and made you feel appreciated/loved, something the boyfriend obviously falls short on.
| Jan 07, 2010
First you said:
"The problem is that my current bf, is a very big pathological liar"
Then you said:
"We will always be able to fall back onto our friendship"
How can you have a trustworthy friendship with a liar?I would not stay friends with a liar long enough to have a baby much less get pregnant!
The other guy said in reply to you :
" I have several tattoos, and he kept telling me how sexy he thinks that is on a woman etc etc"
Let me translate what this guy was THINKING.
If your b/f had not been there he would have nailed you the first chance he got, told you it was fun as he drove you to the air port.
"WOW ! She is hot hot hot! She has tattoos and shacks with her b/f she is a loose whore and I can probably get me some because I can tell she likes me and all I have to do is tell her what she wants to hear and BANG!She’s mine!"
Forget the foreigner he is a fantasy and nothing more.Chances are he is either going to get with an American woman to get his green card or he is going to use her for sex and not leave his country to live here.
Tell the current b/f it is time for a counselor or for you to draw up child support and visitation papers.

My mom tried to kill/ hurt me, but no one believes me. Now I'm waiting, and scared. Help!?
When I was young, I was removed from her house, because she tried to kill me in public. Then people realized she had been ‘hurting’ me for years. I had tried to tell them for awhile, but no one believed me.
I had nothing to do with her for a few years, then had ’supervised’ visits. A few weeks ago I decided to visit her. I figured since our ’supervised’ visits went well, that she wouldn’t pull anything. She attacked me, and I managed to leave. But no one believes me, even with my damage.
The police said "Why would a mother do that to her child?" My close family just tells me to stop it. I know it was dumb of me to see her by myself…. but that aside, what should I do?
I was removed about 10 years ago as a teen. I’m an adult now. I live far away from her. But I still am scared.
She’s the kind of person that would find a way to get me, even if she couldn’t physically do it. (like she would call my local police and tell them I have illegal guns or drugs, in an attempt to get me arrested and my house searched) Or she will say I attacked her and ran away. (Then she will literally attack herself to have bruises) She has pulled crap like this for years (and always gets away with it.) I know she’s looking for power and control.
She has been diagnosed with numerous mental issues. (Borderline, bipolar, munchausen b.p.) I’m petrified, and don’t know what to do. I know she’s going to do something.. i just don’t know what. But I cant get help if no one believes me! Any suggestions will help.
Well for starters don’t ever go over there again!! Do you live close by? Maybe you should think about moving far away. Get a job out of state, pack up, and move without leaving a forwarding address. There must be something else going on if the police did not believe you. Make sure you don’t have anything illegal in your house, don’t do anything against the law, and they will never have anything to use against you if your mother does pull something. Make a police report so that there is at least a record of something, (anyone can make a police report) and then get a restraining order against her. If she violates the restraining order in any way, call the police to have her arrested.
whinie_p | Feb 08, 2010
move, change your name, don’t let her have your address or phone number.
if you suspect any of your friends or other relatives wil give out your address or phone number, don’t tell them the info.
Moving out of the country might help you be calmer.
Also, get a psychiatrist, because if she is Borderline, you need a psychiatrist to help you learn what normal really is.
nickipettis | Feb 08, 2010
Steer clear of her, and if you think a meeting is imminent, or she calls you, then try and record it (most cell phones can do that).
You could also write a prepared statement, preferably notarized and countersigned, explaining the situation, and its history, with an accurate diagnosis of her mental condition, that you can produce if one of the sort of things you are worried about actually occurs.
Good luck
hog b | Feb 08, 2010
you should get a restraining order sometimes called a PROTECTIVE ORDER against her. your past issues should be documented and that should help u with obtaining a restraining order /PROTECTIVE ORDER.

IMDB rating: 7.00 Plot: This, the second adaptation of Raymond Chandler’s novel, is much closer to the source text than the original – _Murder, My Sweet (1944)_ (qv), which tended to avoid some of the sleazier parts of the plot – but still concerns private eye Philip Marlowe’s attempts to locate Velma, a former dancer at a seedy nightclub and the girlfriend of Moose Malloy, a petty criminal just out of prison. Marlowe finds that once he has taken the case, events conspire to put him in dangerous situations, and he is forced to follow a confusing trail of untruths and double-crosses before he is able to locate Velma. |

I need opinions on this first little bit of my new novel?
Tell me what you think
1994
It was a rainy June morning in Miami, Florida. My mother was fixing me a bowl of cereal in the kitchen. I sat quietly in my seat at the table awaiting my breakfast. This day was my fourth birthday, the day I’d been looking forward to for what seemed ever only now it didn’t matter. I wasn’t your average four year oldI wasprobably wiser than some adults andknew far more thanI should for my age.
My father was seated at the kitchen table starring upon the newpaper while sipping from his steaming mug of black uncreamed coffee. I can only vaguley remember his appearence it’s been so long since I last saw him.The feature I remember most thoroughly about him was his eyes, they were the strangest colour you could possibley imagine. Strange but remarkably beautiful, they were a vivid electric blue. The iris’ seemed to be alive, sparked with life, yet today drowned in some sort of misterious sorrow. I could tell this and I was only four years of age he was completley and utterly worried about something. The sudden and urgent change in his looks scared me sensless. I knew nothing could worry my father enough to show such massive amounts of such an emotion, unless these emotions pertained to either I or my mother. We were the only things capable of pursuing such misery upon him, he was easily severly worried about us.
Not only could I find worry on my fathers face but among my mothers aswell. Hers held a different sort of worry though, hers held the worry of my future, and my fathers. I had the immedient sence that my mother knew onlya fraction of what was about to happen in the next few hours. I knew nothing. As morning slowly evaporated into the afternoon so did the time I had left with my mother and father. My father didn’t remove his eyes from the newspaper once, they stayed carefully binded to the small black text. I remember walking up to him and grasping his unnaturely stone cold hands in mine and asking him what was the matter. His only response was a small meaningfulkiss on the cheek, and a forced small grimaced smile. Finaly the moment came where he pulled me into his embrace along with my erratic mother and kissed us farewell. He murmered the words ‘I love you and I’m sorry.’ Through each tearless sob thatengaged through his young yet ancient muscular body. I stayed quiet to in shock to do anything else, I was young and had no control over what would happen next. I was unsure of my future and clueless of what was occuring in the present. My tears and my mother’s drenched each others and my fathers shirts and with one last tearless cry he pulledout from the embrace. To answer the dreaded phone call, the one that would change my life. He’d been expecting it though wishing the time would never come. They found us. We knew it the night before when we saw someone shuffleing in the back yard.
Soon the men dressed in dark clothing began invading our house. The loud burst of shattering glass and sharp crack of snapping wood played out in my ears. I began to cry as my toys were crushed and the loud sounds of gunshotsbeing fired, filtered through the air. My mother held me in her arms and began sprinting for the door only to be stopped by a man with a loaded gun. I watched as my fathers hands danced with flames and striked his opponents body. A man flew intoa wall knocking down my mother’s lovely english china, it bursting on the floor. Shards of broken glass clung to my pale bare arms. I cryed out again though I couldn’t feel the pain. My fine wavy blonde hair clung to my face with the moisture of my tears.
One of the men, the leader, kicked down my father from behind, his own hands lighting up with vibrant flame. With in seconds, five of the seven men were pinning him harshly to the hard white lenolium floor of the porch. The two final gun shots rang and pierced my ears with such a sharp effect I could barely keep my eyes from closing. My father slumped fartherinto the ground and my mother cryed out his name in agony reaching out towards him. His lifeless eyes starred back at us, as the men in black hauled his limp body through the door and away from us forever.
I could barely makeout the two other men approaching us through my tear blurred vision. My mom held me tightly in her arms holding me to her chest. She didn’t sob like I, she faced the enemy with courageous eyes. But she wasn’t strong like the men and my father were, they were different, much stronger than she. My mom backed up against the kitchen counter as they got closer….and closer. The nearer they got the closer I was to blacking out. The serrated blade of a blood painted bludgeon scraped across the nape of my neck. I didn’t scream, didn’t cry I accepted it. What was the point of crying? screaming? I was going to die anyways.
One of the men lifted his lips in an evildeviouscrooked smileand plunged the knifeinto mymother’s temple. Her screamwas muffled by the other man’s hand. The man still smilin

Wow…very, um…well. I don’t really know what to say about it so far. It’s a dark beginning, that’s for sure. If it were a book that I had started reading, I would definitely continue on and want to know what happened.

You made multiple spacing and spelling errors, but I could still understand what you were trying to say. There are a few comma’s that need to be added, but all in all, it’s still an AMAZING story. It didn’t grab me at the beginning, but as I read further it became juicier and juicer. I loved it, but I’m not saying I like horror
